Burren Nature Sanctuary

Set on a 50-acre organic farm, Burren Nature Sanctuary is a perfect introduction to the magical Burren landscape. Stroll through ancient ash and hazel woodland, shattered limestone pavement, and wildflower meadow. Stop at the disappearing lake. Meet friendly farm animals: goats, pigs and donkeys. Visit the Botany Bubble, home to the National Collection of Burren orchids and wildflowers in season. Relax in the Sanctuary Cafe, try the Burren Food Trail signature dish, a savoury scone made with spinach, cheddar and walnut, served with Burren Gold cheese, salad and a seaweed garnish.

Experience: Herb Walk & Picnic Burren Nature Sanctuary Don’t just visit the Burren – Taste it! Enjoy a gentle stroll around the Burren Sanctuary interpretive nature trail and explore the wild plants in season. After the walk they have a demonstration of herb pesto making and a buffet picnic. Event starts at 2pm Tuesday 20th August 2019 and Monday 28th October 2019. Pre-booking is required. Tickets €25 per person at www.burrennaturesanctuary.ie
